This course is an introduction to basic approaches and materials used in drawing.
It is intended to give beginners a foundation to work from, as well as a refresher course for those who already have some skills and experience. The aim is help you develop your drawing skills; hand-eye co-ordination; observation of shape and tone; understanding of structure via linear perspective; experience of different approaches to drawing; and exploration of your own creativity.
The course offers exercises in: still-life; linear perspective; portraits; expression and life-drawing. A relaxing way to unwind after a day's work, in a small group of like minded people.
My approach in the very beginning is a holistic one. We work on recognising your natural hand movements and learning to really ‘see’, not just ‘look’.
Experience of different approaches to drawing; and exploration of your own creativity is key.
